3G Wireless Phones
3G Wireless is a generic term for third generation mobile phone networks capable of transferring data at speeds of up to 384 kbps. 3G technology will enable many broadband applications on wireless devices.
ASP
Short for Application Service Provider, a company that hosts software applications on its own servers or offers access over the internet to software applications that would otherwise need to be located on a client's own computer.

Short for Compact HTML, a pared down version of regular HTML for the limited screen displays and functionality of cell phones, PDAs, and other hand-held devices accessing the Internet.
CTI
Stands for Computer Telephony Integration, systems that enable a computer to act as a call center, accepting incoming phone calls, faxes, and Internet messages and routing them to the appropriate device or person.
E-IVR™
Stands for Enhanced Interactive Voice Response. Strategies NetPeople applies to expand standard IVR. IVR stands for Interactive Voice Response, a telephony technology where a touch-tone phone is used to interact with a database to acquire information or enter data. For example, banks and credit card companies use IVR to provide account info without having to speak directly to a person.
HCI
An acronym for Human Computer Interaction, a broad discipline enabling improvement and implementation of more human-like interactive computer systems. It's the study of how humans interact with computers, reasons behind building specific functionality into computers, and the long-term effects systems will have on humans.
HTTP compliant

HTTPS compliant

IP Telephony
A category of hardware and software that enables people to use the Internet to transmit telephone calls, faxes, and other form of info over the internet.
IVR

Natural Language Processing (NLP)
A branch of artificial intelligence that deals with analyzing, understanding, and generating natural human language in order to interface with computers.

Stands for Public Switched Telephone Network, the international telephone system based on copper wires carrying analog voice data.
SAPI 5
A programming interface from Microsoft for speech recognition and synthesis. It provides a way for developers to enable their applications to receive text from and send text to voice devices.
SDK
Short for Software Development Kit, a programming package that enables a programmer to develop applications for a specific platform.
WAP
Stands for Wireless Application Protocol, a standard for providing cellular phones and other handheld devices with a secure access to e-mail and text-based web pages.
 
XML
Stands for Extensible Markup Language, a flexible computer language that is designed for web documents and provides common information formats that can be shared on the web, intranets, and elsewhere.
